Trevor Traynor, an award-winning photographer and director, offered me the opportunity to create a poster for his photography series NEWSSTANDS. His 2022 photo series documented newsstands in cities across the world, shot entirely on an iPhone from 2012 to 2019. Trevor hosted the NEWSSTANDS photo series event at Hot Shot Muffler in Los Angeles on May 27th, 2022. For the occurrence, I created limited edition newsprint posters that quilted Trevor's photos among repetitive typography — echoing the nostalgic, raw, and prideful organized chaos aesthetic of newsstands. The series was also minted on the blockchain as a collection of 100, 1 of 1 NFTs. More info can be found at newsstands.xyz.
